Simple Season’s Pillow Pattern

This simple pillow is great for a simple embroidery, and simple sewing project.  When complete, the pillow measures approx. 18” x 13”.  Depending on the season, and the type of material you have, you can change it to say anything you like!

What’s Needed:

Embroidery material should measure 7 1/2” x 11”.

Border 1:  cut 1 1/4” wide.  2 strips 11 1/2” long and 2 strips 9 1/2” long. (Coordinating with second border)

Border 2:  cut 3” wide, 4 strips 13” long.

Backing:   muslin, or same material used for one of the borders cut to 18 1/2” x 13 1/2”

1/4” seams throughout project.

1. Embroider saying on material. 

2. Add first border, adding the horizontal first, then the vertical.

3. Next add the second border, first horizontal, then vertical strips.

4. Put your front of pillow, and backing together, with right sides together.

5. Sew a 1/4” seam around the top and sides of pillow, leaving room on the bottom of the pillow to stuff.

6. Turn pillow right side out, stuff with batting, and slip stitch closed the opening.
